Bob The Drag Queen’s new music video for ‘Purse First’ stars Todrick Hall, Derrick Barry, Manila Luzon
Bob The Drag Queen, one of the final three contestants on Season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race (RPDR) has released a music video for the song ‘Purse First’ which takes the saying coined by Bob and turns it into a fabulous dramatisation. Bob is seen in the video clutching the purse he created on RPDR out of curtain fabric.
The first two minutes of the video feature Bob walking around holding this purse in front of her, all without revealing her face. The overly dramatic slow motion walking emphasises Bob’s characteristic humour, with over the top performances from former RPDR contestants Manila Luzon and Derrick Barry hammering home just how “amazing” this purse is.
Youtuber Todrick Hall features as a receptionist in the video, who doesn’t seem too impressed with Bob until he notices the purse.
Once the song kicks in, purse-ography – that is choreography for purses for the uninitiated – becomes a central theme of the video, with Bob and other queens, dancers and club goers taking to the new form of dance like fish to water.
After a long night of partying, Bob emerges from the club a little haggard, dropping her purse which is then found by the DJ, Mitch Ferrino.
Bob The Drag Queen has been tipped to win by Chi Chi Devayne, who was the last person to be eliminated from the competition when RuPaul selected the final three stars.
