George Michael: Freedom airs on October 16 at 9pm on Channel 4, so make sure you set your DVRs to record it!
Showtime has released a teaser trailer for the George Michael: Freedom documentary which will be screened next month.
The Channel 4 documentary film which was co-directed by George Michael will include never before seen archive footage, personal anecdotes from the star, celebrity interviews and home footage.
Michael was heavily involved in the creation of the film before he passed away at the end of 2016 with Freedom featuring narration from the late singer.
The documentary will focus on Michael’s life and career, focusing particularly on the peak of his fame in the ’80s and ’90s, reports Rolling Stone.
The lengthy battle between Michael and Sony Music is also presented in the documentary, with a first-person account of the now infamous proceedings.

The new teaser trailer reveals some of Michael’s contemporaries who will be making an appearance in the film to talk about the LGBT+ icon, including Elton John, Cindy Crawford, Mary J Blige, James Corden, Mark Ronson, Liam Gallagher and more.
George Michael: Freedom will be screened on Showtime in the US on October 21 at 9pm, while Channel 4 which produced the film will be airing the documentary in the UK and Ireland on October 16 at 9pm.
