We’re slowly approaching Gilmore Girls season, the time of the year when days grow colder and our hearts need to get warmer. ‘NUN’ by TOMI
Dropped only yesterday, the new epic indie ballad ‘NUN’ by producer and songwriter TOMI will fill you with passion and longing. Listen to its ferocious electric guitar and powerful vocals here.
‘Time Machine’ by Amiss Tori
A drag queen country singer, Amiss Tori was inspired by her favourite queens of country music, like Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt, when she wrote ‘Time Machine’. This country-pop/folk ballad follows a small-town girl who yearns to escape rural life. Check it out here.
‘Blood Ties’ by RaYche P
‘Blood Ties’ is a new single by RaYche P, a talented lesbian rapper, singer and songwriter from Limerick City. The tune is part of her new EP Bigotry & Blood, which blurs the line between art and activism to inspire listeners to embrace their unique identities. Listen here.
‘Burn the Photograph’ by HOMETIME
HOMETIME is a project by proudly queer Dublin singer Tony Kavanagh, who with their new single ‘Burn the Photograph’ portrays an explosive argument within a toxic relationship. Check out the song here.
‘Over the Rainbow’ by JD Kelleher
To mark 30 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Ireland, Irish non-binary artist JD Kelleher released their own version of Judy Garland’s ‘Over the Rainbow’. Listen here.
‘CTRL’ by Viscose
This dancefloor club anthem explores what it is like when a partner takes over so much of your life that you fear you are losing control. Part of the new EP Flawless, you can listen to ‘CTRL’ here.
‘Ballet Dancer’ by Noah Pearce
Trans singer and songwriter Noah Pearce returned with the new powerful single ‘Ballet Dancer’ about “two people who are in love but whose ambitions and dreams took them to different places”. Listen to the song’s candid lyrics here.
‘Record’ by Touch Excellent
Self-described as “Ireland’s most transgender band”, Touch Excellent have released their debut studio single ‘Record’. The medical imagery of the song is inspired by the band members’ own experiences in the medical system and the ongoing global struggle for reproductive rights. Check out the single here.
‘Daylight Robbery’ by HAVVK
This tune, released earlier this year, explores the expectations that gender-nonconforming people face in their daily lives. Feeling fast-paced and insistent, the track creates a sense of claustrophobia that ultimately evolves into catharsis. Listen to the song here.
