Saddle up and strap in, because something (or someone) is going down in Season 2 of The Hunting Wives. Netflix dropped the official trailer for the upcoming episodes on Monday, October 20, just over a month before they land on the streaming platform.
The show follows Sophie (played by Brittany Snow), an East Coast newcomer in the Texan town of Maple Brook. Having moved with her family to escape her past, she is drawn into the wealthy, decadent world of Margo (played by Malin Akerman), the wife of oil tycoon Jed Banks (played by Dermot Mulroney).
What ensues in Season 1 is a wild ride of gunslinging and lesbian swinging, as Sophie and Margo embark on a secret and scandalous love affair, with a side of murder. The new episodes promise to pick up where the wives left off, with body bags aplenty and questions to be answered.
According to the official logline, “At the start of Season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
Executive producer Rebecca Cutter also teased, “I’m so excited to write these amazing characters again… And I can’t wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, batshit crazy ride through Maple Brook.”
Needless to say, Sophie and Margo’s raunchy romance was a hit among sapphic viewers, who can look forward to more of the same in the new season. In the trailer, while Sophie tries to convince her husband (and couples therapist) that she can change, she is very much still in Margo’s hooks. At the end of the clip, the pair are pictured in a bathtub with Margo saying, “Let’s wash off all of last night’s sins,” to which Sophie replies, “I don’t think we could wash off what we did last night.”

Speaking about the relationship, Brittany Snow said, “There is a lot of love and care there, and yet their circumstances are really dire and murderous, and the stakes are very high.”
Malin Akerman added, “Listen, Margo always has an agenda. She just does, and she is number one in her world. But Sophie, I think, truly has come in and tipped her world upside down.”
Alongside Snow, Akerman and Dermot Mulroney, plenty of other cast members are set to return to the show, including Evan Jonigkeit as Graham; Jaime Ray Newman as Callie; George Ferrier as Brad; Karen Rodriguez as Deputy Wanda Salazar; and, of course, Margo’s wig. There will also be some new faces, such as John Stamos as Chase, Dale Dickey as Zelda and Kim Matula as Nadia.
Expect plenty of sequins, seduction, and shootouts in Season 2 of The Hunting Wives, landing on Netflix on November 26. The show has also been renewed for a third season, with Cutter promising, “you’ll be desperate to see what happens next.”
