Thousands gathered at Merrion Square for a raucous Yes Equality event yesterday afternoon.
Comedian Tara Flynn presided over the event, organised by LGBT Noise, in Dublin’s Merrion Square on Sunday, May 10. An estimated 3,000 campaigners turned out to show their support for marriage equality.
Even ‘80s TV icon, Bosco, turned up to lend his support to the yes campaign. He was joined by performers The Heathers, Mundy and LGBT choir Gloria.
Flynn warned the crowd against complacency, citing the recent upsetting in Britain’s elections, and urged the audience to encourage undecided voters to vote yes.
Also at the event present was Minister of State, Aodhán Ó Riordán, who was asked to removed a ‘Yes’ pin while appearing on an RTÉ talk show the previous evening.
