Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, the highly-anticipated sapphic slasher starring Gillian Anderson and Hannah Einbinder, is coming to Irish cinemas on August 21. GCN is teaming up with Volta Pictures and Light House Cinema to host the Irish premiere of the film on August 13, and what’s more, we have 10 pairs of tickets to give away to some of our lucky readers!

Bloody, erotic and hypnotic, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma has already attracted rave reviews. Written and directed by celebrated filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun, the brilliant mind behind We’re All Going to the World’s Fair and I Saw the TV Glow, the film has been dubbed “a new kind of horror remake”.

It follows the journey of a young director attempting to revive an old slasher film. The director, played by Einbinder, seeks out the original film’s final girl, played by Anderson. The star is now a reclusive actor shrouded in mystery, and when the two protagonists meet, they “fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.”

In addition to Einbinder and Anderson, the cast includes Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald, and Jack Haven.

The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year, where it received widespread critical acclaim and even picked up the Queer Palm Award. Critics described it as “Schoenbrun’s refined sapphic ode to the classic slasher”.

While the film is set to land in Irish cinemas on August 21, with tickets already available here, the premiere will take place at Dublin’s Light House Cinema on August 13 at 6:30pm. To be in with a chance to win one of 10 pairs of tickets we have up for grabs, simply answer the following question:

Who is the director of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma?

The competition closes on Friday, August 7, 2026. Winners will be contacted directly and shared on social media.
