TV presenter and actor Lionel Blair has told that he “can’t bear” gay marriage” in an interview with the Daily Mail.
The flamboyant 82 year-old, who recently appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, told the publication that he doesn’t like how the world is changing.
“What happened to my beautiful England?”, Blair asked, adding “Look if people want to live together, fine, and I do believe in civil partnerships, but marriage is between a man and a woman”.
Blair, who also revealed that he took part in Celebrity Big Brother purely for the pay cheque, went on to criticise John Barrowman’s kiss with a man at the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, saying “What was all that about for goodness sake?”
Speaking about rumours that he is gay, which recently resurfaced on Radio 4’s I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, Blair said that he prefers to be labelled ‘enthusiastic’ as opposed to ‘camp’, adding “It hurts when you have a family”.
