Twitter HQ in San Francisco has memorialised the popular hashtag from last week #HomeToVote.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you will all know that thousands of young people returned to Ireland to vote in favour of marriage equality on May 22.
They soon got the hashtag #HomeToVote trending, with 72,000 tweets making the hashtag go global.
There have now been more than 72,000 #HomeToVote mentions on Twitter since 5pm last night http://t.co/tbp6gObwrNpic.twitter.com/6wuceDV31l

In response to the momentous occasion that hashtag surrounded, Twitter HQ has decided to immortalise the words #HomeToVote, in the tradition of other popular hashtags such as #Ferguson and Emma Watson’s #HeForShe.
Once in a while we put a globally significant hashtag on our wall in San Fran HQ. Being painted now: #HomeToVote pic.twitter.com/pAAZxpCfIK
