Just between us girls, Peppermint from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 was an absolute delight to get to know with Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent to spare. Watch the full GCN interview here.

Just before she took to the stage at The George on Wednesday night, we caught up with the incredible Peppermint from Season 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in an exclusive GCN interview with the drag queen.

In the interview Peppermint talks about her favourite thing about Ireland, her secret musical talent, being a trans drag queen on RuPaul’s Drag Race and her drag inspiration.

Peppermint is a contestant on this year’s season of RuPaul’s Drag Race (Season 9) which is being released on Netflix in Ireland the day after it airs in the US.

Alongside Shea Couleé, the trans drag queen is an audience favourite to win and if she is successful in taking the crown to become America’s Next Drag Superstar it would be a first in RuPaul herstory, making her the first trans drag queen to win the show.

Inspired by Janet Jackson, RuPaul and her mom (how cute is she!) Peppermint is a true drag star with a personality to match.

The Drag Race star also talks about the connection she has with the other drag queens in this season, the influence that the shooting at Pulse nightclub has had on this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and she explains how the result of the Marriage Equality Referendum felt for her in 2015.

Plus, find out what the queen has to say about Michelle Visage, her competitors Shea Couleé and Farrah Moan and the Snatch Game competition from Drag Race.
