Check out Laverne Cox’s brilliant and eloquent response following Katie Couric’s prying questions about transgender people.

On Monday evening Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox and transgender model Carmen Carrera sat down with US TV talkshow host, Katie Couric to chat about their careers, and also to discuss their experiences as transgender women in the public eye.

Unfortunately, Katie proceeded to ask invasive questions about transitioning, which she hoped would “educate” the viewers who “may not be familiar with transgenders”. Thankfully, the amazing Laverne Cox was on hand to put Katie in her place, with a firm and clear speech.

Go, Laverne! Katie won’t be using ‘transgenders’ as a noun again in a hurry.
