The trailer for Orange Is the New Black season 6 is finally here! So before things get serious, let’s take a moment to just let that excitement sink in (Taystee style).
Season 5 of our favourite prison based, very gay Netflix hit saw Litchfield in full riot mode following the *sniff* death of Poussey. Taking place over the course of 72-hours, the season ended with the inmates being cracked down on by a riot-squad of CERT officers and sent to different maximum security prisons.

It’s official, Litchfield is no more. In the trailer we see some of our favorite inmates Red, Piper, Nicky, Suzanne, and Taystee locked up behind doors in separate isolated cells. It’s a far cry from those Litchfield bunkbeds we’ve gotten so used to.
The trailer goes on to show Taystee, Black Cindy, Daya, and Gloria being interrogated for the murder of Humphrey from season 5, and the outbreak of the riot. We see inmates split up as suspects, possibly facing added time or life sentences. Can we deal? No, we can’t.
There are a few friendly faces missing in the trailer, with no sign of our favourite meth-head duo Angie and Lianne, the queen that is hairdressing/firefighting sensation Sophia, Yoga Jones and more. But most importantly, there’s no sign of Alex Vause anywhere in the trailer, and fans are losing their minds…

Netflix has recently renewed the show for another 3 seasons, so we can’t wait to see where this one goes! We’ve seen everything from flaming cheetos, full-blown riots, and talent competitions to pregnancies, and proposals, so who knows what season 5’s going to bring to the table.
Orange is the New Black Season 6 will debut on Netflix on July 27.
