On Saturday night, Rory O’Neill aka Panti Bliss took to the stage of the Abbey Theatre to deliver a powerful and emotionally charged speech about homophobia in modern Ireland.
O’Neill talks about feeling oppressed as a gay man, his Saturday Night Show experience, and the subsequent apology and payout issued by RTE.
The speech came after a performance of James Plunkett’s 1913 Lockout drama The Risen People.
Following the speech, Panti was given a well-deserved standing ovation.
