Philip Seymour Hoffman Found Dead

Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, 46, has been found dead in his New York City apartment.

 

The actor’s body was found at approximately 11:30 this morning in his Greenwich Village apartment. The exact cause of death is still under investigation.

Hoffman won an Oscar in 2005 for his portrayal of gay writer Truman Capote in the film ‘Capote’.

He publically struggled with drug addiction, and in May 2013, Hoffman underwent drug detox treatment for substances including heroin.

Hoffman most recently starred as Plutarch Heavensbee in the hit movie franchise The Hunger Games.

The actor was married to costume designer Mimi O’Donnell and together they have one son and two daughters.
