Oscar winner Tom Hanks was honoured with OutFest’s Trailblazer Award for his portrayal of a HIV+ man in 1994’s ‘Philadelphia’
The legendary actor was presented with the award by actor Aaron Echhart at The Legacy Awards, a gala to support the Outfest UCLA Legacy Project, at Vibiana venue in Los Angeles.
Philadelphia, written by Ron Nyswaner, is lauded as the first Hollywood film to address HIV/Aids and homophobia.
