Milla is 9 years old, Australian, cute and blonde. He is also trans. His parents have made a video to show Milla’s transition, as a plea to those with trans family members or friends to be accepting.
Australian boy Milla has always loved boy’s toys, clothes and always wanted short hair. Most people assumed it was a tomboy phase or, as Milla described it, “girl-boy”. As he grew older, he began to question why he was born this way, in the wrong body. He would cry himself to sleep at night and threatened to cut off his breasts if they ever grew.
Soon after, Milla came out as trans.
The 9 year-old’s parents decided to create this slideshow video and post it to Facebook so their friends and family could understand what was happening in their family.
Milla also speaks in the video, describing how he is bullied for being trans. But he knows he’s definitely lucky to have such a wonderful and supportive family.
He says, “It’s not easy being me. I have gender dysphoria. I feel like I am in the wrong body. I am having a really hard time at school at the moment. Kids tease me all the time… people just don’t understand me. No one wants to be my friend. I just want people to accept me for who I am.”
