Westlife singer Markus Feehily marked his 39th birthday by revealing that he and his fiancé Cailean O’Neill are going to be dads for the first time.

The singer shared a mirror selfie of himself and his partner next to a sonogram and baby clothes.

In the post caption, he wrote: “Thanks for all the Birthday wishes everyone!! ???

“It makes this my most special birthday EVER to let everyone know that later this year we will become Dads for the first time.

“This is the proudest moment of our lives and we are beyond excited to say it out loud! ???❤️ M&Cx”

Feehily, who is due to play Croke Park with Westlife on July 5 and 6, and his partner announced that they were engaged last February.

Speaking to the Mail On Sunday, he had teased the idea of having kids before: “I would love to have my own kids running around one day.

“Listen, that is absolutely a dream for me when it happens. I say when it happens because it will happen. It is absolutely the next step. Everything is exciting. Sometimes your work is amazing but your personal life is in trouble. Sometimes the personal life is great but you have no work.

“When the two come together it is the perfect harmony and that is where I am at and hopefully it will stay like that.”

Fellow Westlife band members, who are currently in Glasgow for their sold-reunion tour, took to social media to congratulate Feehily.

Shane Filan wrote: “So happy for you both. Can’t wait for westlife baby number 10 to arrive.”

“Such huge excitement here today! Not only is it @markusmoments birthday but then for him and Cailean to share (sic) there news that THEY ARE HAVING A BABY!” Wrote Kian Egan, “Aggggggggggghhhhhhh… you gotta love this westlife family! 10 westlife babies now!!!????????????????????
