Mark Feehily, of Westlife fame, now owns and runs a catering van.

The Irish singer and professional stool-sitter revealed that he runs his own catering van service, selling crepes and coffee. He serves food and drinks from a van at festivals, and that it’s been “going really well” so far.

The out singer has ventured into this new business since his band Westlife disbanded in 2012, but he insists that it’s a passion and loves to work there.

He told 2FM:

“People were flabbergasted that I was in the van making crepes…but it’s my business and I love it. I cannot not be involved.”

“People kind of have this thing ‘oh, he was in Westlife a few years ago and now he’s making tea’. I’m not going to be in the van all the time, but it’s exciting, I love it….so why not.”

However, the 34 year-old said that breaking from Westlife didn’t deter him and he is planning to release more solo music.

“Everyone just thinks I went back into the living room and sat down for two years but not too long after Westlife finished I went back in the studio.”

The singer – who came out publicly in 2005 – has decided to live on the edge with his music choices and doesn’t mind if people like it.

“I decided to start from scratch and just start writing the type of songs that my voice naturally sings by itself. Everything is put together for me as a solo artist.”

“It’s exciting to be able to go into the studio with no rule box and no formula… its kind of living on the edge much more and I’m willing to accept that some people may not like it.”
