Win one of three pairs of tickets to ‘Banter: In The Name Of Love’, a special discussion about the history and future of the LGBT movement in Ireland.

 

A new book by Irish Times columnist, Una Mullally, charting the history so far of the movement towards marriage equality, will be the focal point of a special Banter event.

In The Name Of LovePublished by The History Press, In the Name of Love traces the history of the movement for marriage equality in Ireland, narrated by those who took a stand, including politicians, activists, artists, drag queens, lobbyists, feminists and those who rocked the boat.

On Wednesday December 10, some of those who contributed to the book will join Banter to talk at length about the story so far, what’s to be learned from the various victories and setbacks so far in the path to marriage equality and what lies ahead in the referendum campaign in 2015.

On the panel will be ex-NXF chair, Ailbhe Smyth, John Lyons TD, and GCN founder Tonie Walsh, along with the book’s author Una Mullally. The discussion will be chaired by Banter producer Jim Carroll, there will be an audience Q&A afterwards.

Banter’s event takes place at Twisted Pepper, Middle Abbey St., Dublin 1 on Wednesday December 10. Doors open at 6pm, tickets available here
