Electra’s latest album Fanfare was released on October 26, 2023, and the artist closed out the year performing for fans in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.
The record, which is the musician’s third studio album, was written in collaboration with Clarence Clarity and Weston Allen, Casey MQ, Count Baldor and Klaxons’ Jamie Reynolds. It explores, “parasocial relationships, from the claims we stake on celebrities’ lives to taking in obsession, idolatry and pop culture as modern mythology.”
Each track expresses feelings of love and hate, fandom and control, and the album has earned critical praise from Billboard, VMan, Dazed, and The Needle Drop. Dorian’s musical style blends genres of pop, metal, jazz, and classical music to create their own unique sound.
Fanfare builds upon Dorian’s first two albums Flamboyant (2019) and My Agenda (2020) and traverses the socio-political effects of internet culture and the rise of parasocial relationships.
Tickets to see Dorian Electra’s Dublin gig at the The Academy are available now from €23, but for a chance to win a pair of tickets, answer the following question:
