Hailing from LA, talented musician Rochelle Jordan is about to embark on an exciting journey with her upcoming debut performance in Ireland. The highly-anticipated event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 8, at The Workmans Club in Dublin.
As if that wasn’t thrilling enough, there’s even better news for all music enthusiasts out there. GCN has an opportunity for one fortunate reader to win a pair of tickets to this incredible show!
After a period of introspection, Rochelle Jordan experienced significant spiritual and artistic growth, culminating in her triumphant return in 2021 with the release of her groundbreaking album titled Play With the Changes.
Her musical journey began in London, where she was born to British-Jamaican parents. Later, her family relocated to the vibrant eastside of Toronto during the early ’90s. It was here that her father, a talented drummer, encouraged her love for music while fostering a deep appreciation for the captivating sounds of Northern Soul, Jamaican reggae and dancehall.
As a teenager, Rochelle absorbed the musical influences that reverberated through the walls of her childhood bedroom, delving into her older brother’s diverse record collection. She immersed herself in funky UK house, ethereal drum and bass, captivating garage beats and soul-stirring gospel samples.
