Patricia Yurena Rodríguez, winner of Miss Spain in both 2008 and 2013 – and representative of Spain in 2013’s Miss Universe Pageant in Moscow – has come out as gay through an Instagram post.

The 24-year-old model and actress posted an intimate photo of her and her girlfriend, DJ and singer, Vanesa Klein, with the caption “Romeo and Juliet”.

Following the post, she told La Opinión de Tenerife, “I don’t regret what I did and I did it because I’m happy about what’s going on in my life.”

She then tweeted thanking fans for the support and said that coming out was a spur of the moment decision. She wrote, “Thanks for all your comments. I published the picture completely spontaneously and in an impulsive manner. Thank you for all your support.”
