5 Queer And Alternative Events Happening This Valentine's Day

Whether you're single or in a relationship here are some alternative things you can do to celebrate queer love this Valentine's Day.

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day rears its head this Wednesday. If you’re not into the whole traditional way of celebrating the “hallmark” holiday, here are 5 things to do around the country that may pique your interest!

IFI Queer Love Screenings

The lovely folks at the Irish Film Institute are screening two queer classic films on V-day: Bound and Weekend. On the night there will be a Prosecco reception, a delicious two-course dinner followed by a scrumptious Valentine cupcake.

Outhouse Valentine’s Dinner + Entertainment

Outhouse will be hosting a bespoke four course feast on Saturday 17th February, 7pm.

If you’re looking for a delicious, quality meal on Valentine’s weekend in a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere, come along to our welcoming LGBTQ+ centre. Just look at that menu!

Everybody’s welcome – singles, couples, friends, family, acquaintances, lovers (no matter gay straight or bi, lesbian transgender life”) … we would love for you to join us! Your ticket includes 2 glasses of wine to enjoy with your meal, and there will also be guest entertainment on the night.

Palentine’s @ SLICE

SLICE will be opening their doors for one night only on the 14th of Feb so you can come along and enjoy cocktails, craic and top notch food. Diners will enjoy a seasonal cocktail on arrival followed by tapas boards to share, main course a selection of desserts. It’s a night to celebrate the love you have for them dear pals of yours! #ForTheLoveOfPals

LGBT+ Speed Dating @ Street 66

Street 66 is piloting an LGBT Speed Dating evening just a day after Valentine’s day!

We are very lucky to have Pixie Woo, who will be our Cupid/Presenter for our amazing new charity event.

Our LGBT Speed Dating event is open to those who are single, looking for love and even those who want to get to know somebody new. If you feel like having a bit of extra fun that week, why not try something new? đŸ˜€

  • Gentlemen will kick off at 18:30 until 19:30
  • Ladies will kickoff at 20:30 until 21:30.

This is a very exciting pilot event for Street 66, so our launch night is about getting used to our Speed Dating format and having a bit of fun. Everyone can meet anyone! We plan on having more exclusive dating nights over the next few months

Everyone is encouraged to attend, regardless of gender or sexuality. However, PLEASE NOTE that participation is limited due to room capacity.
