The LGBT group of AA Ireland have shared details of their Open Pride AA Meeting which will take place on Friday June 24th at 8 PM. They shared with GCN the following:

“We all love Pride and for many of us it is the highlight of the LGBTQIA+ year. Pride events showcase the joy, history, and progress made in our community and are filled with fun, friendship, and laughter. For those of us with alcohol issues, however, Pride events can be testing.”

“There is an opportunity for anyone who may have a concern about their drinking to come to an ‘in–person’ public meeting of the LGBTQIA+ Group of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) at Outhouse 105 Capel Street, Dublin.”

At this Outhouse event, members of AA who are LGBTQIA+ will talk about their experience and the tools they learned along the way in dealing with alcohol.  Their stories are truly inspiring and well worth listening to.

The meeting is free of charge.  Everyone is welcome to attend!

Alcoholics Anonymous is a worldwide fellowship of people who share their experiences, strength, and hope with each other in a bid to solve their common problem and help others recover from alcoholism.

At the same time as the Open Pride in-person meet, there will also be a separate open LGBTQIA+ online group meeting of AA at 8 PM. Those details can be found at www.lgbtaaireland.com

The Outhouse LGBTQIA+ group meetings of AA happen each Monday and Friday at 8 PM and on ordinary Sundays at 6.30 PM. Live and Let Live Meetings in Clarendon Street Dublin 2 occur each Saturday at 7.30 PM and Tuesday at 6.30 PM.    There are also regular online zoom meetings available.

They conclude, “As we say in AA, ‘’Easy Does It’’, so just do it and come along! Happy Pride!”

GCN has been a vital, free-of-charge information service for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.

During this global COVID pandemic, we like many other organisations have been impacted greatly in the way we can do business and produce. This means a temporary pause to our print publication and live events and so now more than ever we need your help to continue providing this community resource digitally.

GCN is a registered charity with a not-for-profit business model and we need your support. If you value having an independent LGBTQ+ media in Ireland, you can help from as little as €1.99 per month. Support Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
