District 8, the wildly successful Irish clubbing brand, has joined forces with Mother, Dublin’s resident LGBTQ+ disco club, to present the legendary Glitterbox event.
Originating in 2014, Glitterbox has held “legendary status in the dance world” after its Hi Sunday residencies and one-day parties with Printworks, a South London-based nightclub and events venue.
“We’ve been keen on hosting [Glitterbox’s] Irish debut for a good few years now,” District 8 and Mother said in a statement.
The clubbing brand attempted to debut Glitterbox to Irish audiences back in 2020, though the event was unfortunately derailed by the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now that we are all free to party once more, District 8 and Mother have brought Glitterbox back for an “even BIGGER party”.
Glitterbox will kick off District 8’s D8 in the Garden summer festival series on Saturday, July 29 in Palmerstown House, Kildare.

Artists already confirmed include Dave Lee JN, Groove Armada, Mousse T., Natasha Diggs, Mother DJs and Kelly-Anne Byrne. A mystery “very special guest” will also be joining the line-up, though their identity has yet to be revealed by the event’s organisers.
The D8 in the Garden festival will also feature exciting shows on August 5, 6 and 12, featuring Charlotte De Witte, Camelphat, and Boris Brejcha as headliners.
Speaking further about D8 in the Garden, the District 8 team explained that the series is a “brand new concept inspired by acclaimed international events such as Brunch In The Park & Piknic Électronik. An exciting summer gathering, surrounded by nature in the magical Walled Garden at Palmerstown House”.
Described as “a show NOT to be missed,” general admissions tickets for Glitterbox are on sale now with prices starting at €49.47 via Eventbrite.
