After an incredible success at this year’s Dublin Fringe Festival, singer, songwriter and electrifying live performer SexyTadhg is bringing their award-nominated show Television to the Smock Alley Theatre for a winter run.
Known for pushing boundaries and delivering “jaw-dropping” performances, SexyTadhg has been popping up all over Ireland recently, with appearances at big festivals like Electric Picnic, All Together Now and Beyond the Pale. The artist was also spotlighted at this year’s IMRAM Irish-language literature festival, as well as delivering a fantastic performance at the 2024 GALAS.
Now SexyTadhg is gearing up to bring their latest show, Television, to the Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin this Christmas. Blurring the lines between reality and entertainment, the show blends cabaret and musical performance with the artist’s signature flair.
“It was the first voice you heard in the morning, and the last image before bed. Grab the remote, it’s time to watch, Television!” reads the show’s description. “Check out the Catholic (Guilt) Channel, XXX After Dark, and The Real Housewives of Carlow Town, as SexyTadhg guides you through the universe of your mind.”
The live cabaret musical performance will have you flicking through the channels of your psyche in a journey to find the answer to one question: what is real and what is… television? Inspired by the artist’s own relationship with media, this raw and hilarious cabaret questions how our media obsession has shaped society and infiltrated our self-discovery.
