With Halloween fast approaching, we’re embracing all that this spooky season has to offer by binging some thrilling TV shows with queer representation. From ghosts to portals, haunted houses to the apocalypse, we’ve got a chilling lineup of shows to sink your fangs into.

The Haunting of Hill House
An eerie take on the classic haunted house trope, with alternating timelines and a spooky mystery at its core. Bringing the queer undertones of Shirley Jackson’s original novel to the fore, there’s a reason fans keep coming back to this modern gothic!

Dead Boy Detectives
Follow teen ghosts Edwin and Charles as they solve supernatural mysteries for their fellow phantoms, while navigating the afterlife. Horror, comedy, and queerness radiate from this rebellious series.

Yellowjackets
An absolute fan favourite, this series is a perfect slice of queer horror to indulge in this Halloween. Loaded with drama and intensity, this thriller follows the aftermath of a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness, dipping into psychological trauma, survival, and community. With a fourth season in the works, now is a great time to watch or rewatch!

Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire
Leaning into the gay subtext of Anne Rice’s original novel, this series adds to the canon of queer vampire fiction, with a third season on the cards, focusing on Lestat. A delicious taste of vampire horror!

First Kill
For sapphic vampires, we can turn to this underrated teen TV show, which fans have described as “lesbian Twilight”. We’re sold! Though it was not renewed after season 1, this show is an ideal watch for the Halloween season, with its forbidden love, modern vampires, and awesome soundtrack.

The Owl House
An animated fantasy with a bisexual protagonist, Owl House is a charming show with magical portals and the found family trope we love to see from queer TV.

The Last of Us
As season 2 was released earlier this year, now is the chance to catch up on this intense, post-apocalyptic drama, with the much-loved Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey at the fore. If you thought season 1 was an emotional rollercoaster, season 2 dials the notch up to 100. Despite the extreme danger and violent themes of revenge, we also get to explore Ellie and Dina’s burgeoning relationship throughout this season.

American Horror Story
With a magnificent cast and a whole 12-season run so far, there are plenty of episodes to choose from for your Halloween watching! With a multitude of queer storylines, including the season 11 focus on the AIDS crisis in NYC, this show dishes up tastes of all things queer horror.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
With trans representation and badass witchcraft, this reboot combines a coming-of-age storyline with the darker aspects of magic and keeps viewers hooked from the first episode!

Killing Eve
Time for the annual rewatch of our favourite sapphic slowburn! With its high-stakes pursuit, it’s the ideal dose of obsession and drama we need from the Halloween season. Plus, it’s Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer…

Riverdale
Whilst you may not be able to follow the outlandish plotlines, you can certainly enjoy camp horror and LGBTQ+ storylines spanning across the seasons of this delectable show.

Queer for Fear

Penny Dreadful
Tying together staple Gothic characters like Frankenstein and Dorian Gray, against the dismal backdrop of Victorian London, the series oozes classic horror, but with a decidedly queer twist.

Agatha All Along
Aubrey Plaza plays Death in this wickedly intoxicating series with layers of mystery and an unbelievably camp adventure. With central queer storylines and the iconic Patti LuPone, it’s a witchy crowd-pleaser and a Halloween TV must-watch!

The Haunting of Bly Manor
From the same creator of The Haunting of Hill House, this gothic miniseries is shrouded in mystery and tragedy, with a queer love story at its haunted core.

Shadow and Bone
For some more fantasy, Shadow and Bone offers viewers a taste of magic and mayhem, as protagonist Alina Starkov uses her Sun Summoner powers to battle the evil forces at play in this unique world. With lots of LGBTQ+ representation, particularly among the ‘Crows’ in season 2, it’s a stunning show to get lost in during this frightful season.

And that concludes our spooktacular lineup of 16 bingeable TV shows with queer representation for your Halloween streaming. We’d love to know your thoughts!
