Two-time Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon is coming to the West End in the summer of 2026 to portray Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow at The Soho Theatre.

Speaking of the new role, Monsoon wrote in an Instagram post, “Judy Garland came into my life, like many, through entertainment— but she stays in my life because of her story.”

End of the Rainbow takes place towards the latter part of Garland’s life. “We know all too well, the toll that fame took from her. Looking back, we can see more clearly the many factors that played a part in her storied life,” Jinkx said.

Monsoon debuted on Broadway in 2023 as Matron ‘Mama’ Morton in Chicago. She then went on to perform in Oh Mary!, Little Shop of Horrors, and Pirates! The Penzance Musical.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the singer and actor stated, “I never question my blessings, I just thank Hecate for them.”

Hoffer will be reprising her role as Judy Garland, but in a more serious manner than previously. Audiences may be familiar with her impression of the diva on Snatch Game.

“I know people know me for impressions and imitations— but I’m thrilled for this chance to explore beyond the laughter and into the heart of why we still think so much about Judy today.”

Hoffer emphasises the lasting cultural importance of Garland’s story, “Her tale is one that we can’t forget, especially as women in entertainment are still fighting for autonomy and agency in their own careers.”
