GCN is proud to bring back our fundraising amateur drag competition So You Think You Can Drag. Following last year’s triumphant debut, the 2026 event returns on Friday, February 27, at The George.
Hosted once again by the fabulous Davina Devine, the unmissable event will see notable figures from the queer community competing for the crown, all while raising much-needed funds in support of Ireland’s free national LGBTQ+ media.
Sashaying their way onto the stage in their finest drag will be social media stars Sian Conway and Cian Griffin, AKA gaylgeoiri; TV host and podcaster Fionnuala Jay; actor and Dancing with the Stars‘ competitor Michael Fry; activist and Trans & Intersex Pride Dublin co-founder Ollie Bell; Poz Vibe Tribe’s Conor; Aerach Aiteach Gaelach’s Kevin Johnston; Glória LGBT+ Choir’s Ailish; plus more to be announced! Keep an eye out on our socials for the latest updates on our fabulous cast. Tickets are on sale at this link.
Expect fierce lipsyncs, comedy, music and dance galore, as our cohort of budding drag superstars join GCN in literally serving the community under the watchful eye of Davina Devine, with the winner decided by you – our gorgeous audience.
Last year’s fabulous winner Khia (The) Asylum, aka Shamrock Sióga’s Danny Carby-Robinson, will make a special appearance on the night to crown the 2026 winner.
If that weren’t enough, our friends at Absolut and The George are treating attendees to special Absolut drink offers throughout the night, so don’t miss out on this fabulous occasion that is guaranteed to put the ‘fun’ in fundraising!
With a not-for-profit model, GCN operates on limited funds and resources and has been greatly impacted by rising business costs, like rent, electricity and paper. Amid an increasingly hostile global political climate and the rise of hate and misinformation, now more than ever, our community needs a free, accessible, independent media organisation that tells our side of the story.
Tickets for this incredible event are on sale here. Doors open at 6:30pm, with the show set to kick off at 7:30pm.
If you can’t make it to this fabulous event but would like to support the work we do, you can donate what you can here and below.
This event is a fundraiser for GCN (a trading name of the National LGBTQ+ Federation CLG, Registered Charity Number: 20034580) and is proudly supported by Absolut and The George.
