The Screen Actors’ Guild Awards (SAG) ceremony was in full swing last night and there were a few obvious winners, as is to be expected.
With the Oscars rolling around sooner than you would think, the SAG Awards gives a good indication of who is likely to win big at the Academy Awards.
LGBT’s were given a good representation as Mark Ruffalo won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries for his turn in The Normal Heart; while Orange is the New Black received two statuettes, one for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Uzo Aduba’s Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role as Crazy Eyes.
Kevin Spacey’s role as bisexual Frank Underwood in House of Cards won him the SAG for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series while The Imitation Game lost out in all categories.
