Conchita Wurst to Release Debut Album

Eurovision winner and fabulous lady Conchita Wurst has announced plans to release her debut album.

 

The album called, simply, Conchita, will have 14 tracks but won’t include her Eurovision-winning song Rise Like A Phoenix. It is set to release on May 13.

On Monday, Conchita launched her new single You Are Unstoppable, along with her new autobiography I, Conchita: My story. We are unstoppable.

The book will tell the story of her youth, dealing with homophobic fellow students, to her triumphant win at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. Currently, the book is only available in German, but will be published in French and English in May.

Speaking at the launch on Monday, Wurst spoke reflected upon her coming out during a newspaper interview before telling her parents.

“It wasn’t done unwillingly,” she said. “I had this short moment of, ‘what do I do now? Do I lie or am I my own person?’ So I decided to say what it was.”

During this year’s Eurovision, Conchita will host interviews in the Green Room at the competition.

Vienna’s public transport operator announced this week that during the annual extravaganza recorded announcements would be made by none other than the drag queen herself.
