Supermodel Cara Delevingne is to star in the upcoming film ‘Paper Towns’, in her first leading role.
Cara Delevingne – fashion It girl – is to play Margo in the film adaptation of John Green’s third young adult novel Paper Towns.
Paper Towns tells the story of Quentin who falls in love with his neighbour, Margo, as a child. They are virtual strangers until one night she asks for help, hoping he will assist her in pranking those who have wronged her – including her ex-boyfriend. Quentin thinks things will change between them but the next morning, she goes missing. Subsequently, Quentin and his friends embark on a mission to find her before graduation.
Quentin is played by Nat Wolff, who has also starred in the film adaptation of John Green’s uber-successful The Fault In Our Stars.
It debuted at number five on the New York Times bestseller list for children’s books in 2008.
The buzz around the film has been building since Cara was cast last year, after a search which saw Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner and The Maze Runner star Kaya Scodelario linked to the role.
If the trailer is anything to go by, the film looks pretty good and Delevingne’s American accent isn’t as cringe-worthy as one might fear.
Paper Towns is set to be released July 24.
