Caitlyn Jenner could appear in Transparent after revealing her identity on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine.

Transparent creator Jill Soloway has said that she would love to feature Caitlyn Jenner’s story in the popular television show starring Jeffrey Tambor.

The comedy series, which first aired on Amazon last year, tells the story of Moira, a transgender woman who comes out to her children later in life.

Caitlyn Jenner – previously known as Bruce Jenner – came out as transgender earlier this year after much speculation and shot a cover story for Vanity Fair.

Transparent creator Jill Soloway, whose own parent’s story is the basis for the show, has said that the show’s second season will definitely include Jenner in some way, given the clear parallels.

Speaking at Tuesday’s Brass Ring Awards at the Beverly Hilton, Soloway said: “I spoke to Caitlyn, and she told me that she saw the show; and I talked to Kim Kardashian, and she told me they all watched it together.”

The Transparent creator said that she had invited Jenner to the show’s set, “I don’t know if she’d want to act, but we definitely want to incorporate the fact that she came out into this season.”

“Just to have that base conversation somewhere in a scene, for sure,” Variety reports. “There’s an international resonance with people recognizing that trans people are people too.”

However, Soloway did admit that this is just the beginning for transgender rights, reflecting on a blogpost by Laverne Cox, in which she spoke about the wealth privilege of some trans people.

“It’s still unsafe for trans people to use bathrooms. It’s just beginning and there are miles to go on this life’s journey so hopefully (Jenner will) get to be a part of the community and I know she will be because she will be an activist for change.”

Caitlyn Jenner will be the focus of an upcoming documentary about her transition in I Am Cait.

Transparent is set to return later this year.
