A police officer in Philadelphia was caught on camera using anti-gay slurs and extorting driver into buying police fundraiser tickets.
Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey is investigating an incident involving officer Matthew Zagursky – who pulled over a car and asked the driver if he had any money to buy tickets to the Police and Fire Hero Thrill Show, which raises money to pay college tuition fees for children of deceased members of the force, who died in the line of duty.
The officer said, “Either you buy these, or I take your car because it’s unregistered. Ten bucks each man.”
While the driver is getting money from his wallet, the officer comments on the cars pink windshield wipers, calling them “faggot ass”.
When the driver explained that it was to support breast cancer awareness, Zagursky said, “Can’t you support breast cancer another way? You look like a fruit cake.”
Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said, “He’s tarnished that entire event, and the entire cause that it represents, by his actions.”
“Anyone with any kind of clear thought at all would know that that’s just not good, it’s not what you do.”
