50 Cent: Empire's "Extra Gay" Content Cause of Ratings Decline

Empire

Part-time rapper and full-time TV critic, 50 Cent, has blamed drama Empire’s recent ratings drop on a surfeit of “extra gay” content.

In a post that has since been deleted on photo-sharing site Instagram, 50 pointed out that the series’ second episode had 3 million fewer viewer, and blamed the decline on the “extra gay stuff” and numerous celebrity cameos, reports BET.

50 reposted an Instagram post that pointed out the decline in viewers following Empire’s season premier.“There are 3 million less viewers who tuned into last night’s Empire episode!!!! did you watch it?” read the post. “We could not take the extra gay stuff or celebrity stuff last night!!!!”

“Empire’s ratings took a huge hit,” 50 added. “Okay I’ll stop now. Cookie call me baby. I’ll tell every body to watch the show for you.”

50’s feud with Empire is well documented; the rapper earlier dismissed the show, which airs on Fox, as “some shit you get for free” – a reference to premium cable show Power, of which 50 is an executive producer.
