Star of US television shows Arrow and Teen Wolf, Colton Haynes, has officially come out as gay.

Following rumours which abounded after an ambiguous reply to a fan on Tumblr posted “after I found out Colton Haynes had a secret gay past I got so excited even though I know it makes absolutely no difference to my life,” to which Colton replied “Was it a secret? Let’s all just enjoy life & have no regrets.”dFive months later, Colton has confirmed what his coy reply on Tumblr alluded to, “It was a complete shock. I wasn’t ready to be back in the headlines, I should have made a comment or a statement, but I just wasn’t ready.”

Haynes has been vocal about suffering from anxiety in the past “People who are so judgmental about those who are gay or different don’t realize that acting 24 hours a day is the most exhausting thing in the world,” said the Arrow star.

Now however the star is in a better place mentally. “It took me so long to get to this point, but I’m doing so good,” Haynes declared. “I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and healthier than I’ve ever been, and that’s what I care about.”

Colton’s coming out follows Charlie Carver’s public announcement. Carver, who also starred in Teen Wolf, came out earlier in the year. Carver previously filmed a steamy threesome scene in the 2015 film about Michael Glatze, I Am Michael, with James Franco and Zachary Quinto.
