- Australia’s same-sex marriage bill voted down. The Australian parliament voted to reject the government’s proposal for a national vote on legalising same-sex marriage. If this proposal had been accepted, then the government would have legislated for same-sex marriage without having a plebiscite which is planned for February 2017. (India)
