Geri, Emma and Mel B tried to reunite the Spice Girls once again in 2016, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their breakout hit single ‘Wannabe’.

Mel C and Victoria however declined the offer, which led the now trio to opt for a new version of the group, GEM (Geri, Emma, Mel).

But after their first single ‘Song For Her’ leaked online, getting mixed reactions, and with Geri becoming pregnant, future projects for GEM were put aside indefinitely.

It seems however that Mel B was really determined to bring the group back together and she eventually managed to convince the rest of the girls, including Victoria, who had always been opposed to plans for a reunion.

According to a source, a previous assistant who will be working with the group again for this new chapter in Spice Girls history, the five became once again very close following Mel B’s difficult divorce battle and the birth of Geri’s son Monty.

“Plans at the moment are still in the early stages.” the insider told The Sun and there is no news about a tour yet but we can dream, right?

It turns out friendship really never does end for the Spice Girls.
