To mark Father’s Day we have gathered five of our favourite couples who will be celebrating this year and one bonus couple with a baby on the way!
Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black
Tom Daley and his husband Dustin Lance Black will celebrate Father’s Day this year with their adorable 11 month-old son Robert Ray Black-Daley.
Elton John and David Furnish
Elton John and David Furnish are no strangers to celebrating Father’s Day with 8 year-old Zachary and younger brother 6 year-old Elijah they are probably the most famous gay dads in the world and the most stylish too- check out those suits!
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka
Neil Patrick Harris is well-known for his role as in hit show ‘How I Met Your Mother’ but along with his husband David Burtka he is the parent to twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott. With their legen- wait for it -dary family Halloween costumes they have to be one of the cutest LGBT+ families out there.
Jay O’Callaghan and Aaron O’Bryan
Jay O’Callaghan and Aaron O’Bryan touched all our hearts following their appearance with their son on the Late Late Show after they were refused a passport for him until they could prove that one of them was the biological father. They eventually received the passport and we couldn’t be happier for this family who didn’t stand for different treatment for LGBT+ families.
Colm O’Gorman and Paul
Colm O’Gorman and his husband Paul always tried to shield their children from the limelight but after their daughter, Safia read a letter about her dads on the radio in the lead up the marriage equality referendum he opened up about the privilege of raising his two kids Safia and Sean.
Bonus dads!: Mark Feehily and Cailean O’Neill
Westlife singer Mark Feehily and his fiancé Cailean O’Neill will be joining the ranks of gay dads as they recently announced that they are going to be dads for the first time. They announced the news on the singer’s birthday with a mirror selfie.
If you’re stuck for plans to mark the occasion why not check out this Father’s Day rave for young children. Expect crafts, face painting, bubbles, balloons and parachute games on the dance floor for the kids with decent coffee for the grownups
