Reality star Carmen Carrera has wed her long time partner Adrian Torres on VH1’s reality show ‘Couples Therapy’.

The former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant tied the knot with her beau of over a decade, becoming the first trans person to marry on a reality show.

“This wedding has given us a sense of freedom to be proud of what we have and who we are,” says Carrera, who has become a model and trans activist since her appearance on season three of Drag Race.

The couple have been together for ten years, briefly separating in 2015 before rebuilding their relationship in front of the camera for the reality series.

“Celebrating our love and what we call our ‘modern, modern family,’ lets us know that we belong here and that we also have a place to raise a family of our own on our terms. We feel truly blessed.”

“Adrian has been there for me through so many important moments in my life and our love has forever kept us together,” says Carrera.

“We realise we are so lucky to have found one another. He has shown me that unconditional love transcends gender and the exterior appearance.”
