Netflix has announced a new exciting show to binge this spring: The Four Seasons, a comedy that promises both humour and heart. Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani play lovers in this new exciting series, with Tina Fey not only starring beside them but also creating the project. Premiering on May 1, the series explores the joys and complications of long-term friendships, relationships, and the occasional vacation disaster.
The Four Seasons, which also stars comedy fan favourites such as Steve Carell and Kerri Kenney-Silver, follows a group of three suburban couples who embark on an exciting weekend trip together. The show is based on the 1981 film of the same name, which starred Alan Alda and Carol Burnett.
The time away is meant to be a relaxing escape, but when one couple splits up, the dynamics shift. What was once a predictable series turns into a whirlwind of unexpected tensions, personal revelations, and comedic chaos.
One couple is composed of Danny and Claude, played by Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani (the couple we’ll all be rooting for, of course.) Domingo, known for his captivating performances in Zola and Euphoria, brings his signature charm and emotional depth to the role. Meanwhile, Calvani, with his Italian sophistication, embodies Claude with effortless elegance. Together, they offer a portrayal of a strong, loving relationship that stands in contrast to the upheaval surrounding them.
In a recent conversation with Tundum, Fey commented: “I hope audiences feel like they are inside a big sweater with us, and also having a dinner party with us, and I hope that any of the joy and warmth that we all feel for each other all transfers to them, and that we are a comfort and provide some laughs for them in their home,”
With Fey’s signature wit driving the story, The Four Seasons is poised to be more than just a comedy. It’s a heartfelt look at evolving relationships, midlife surprises, and the enduring power of love and friendship. Whether it’s awkward dinner conversations, unexpected alliances, or moments of raw vulnerability, this series is set to deliver laughs with a side of real emotional depth.
