Italian fashion designers Dominico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have each been sentenced to 18 months in prison for tax evasion.

The world famous designers were charged last year with hiding millions of euro worth for Italian tax authorities, and were sentenced today with 18 months in prison. They allegedly used a Luxembourg holding company, called Gado, to dodge paying taxes on royalties of up to 1 billion euro.

Both men deny the charges and are expected to appeal the case.
