“I think the No side have a lot on their conscience because a lot of the lies they’re propagating has driven people into this kind of behaviour.”
Pixie Woo, aka Michael Ryan, posted an Instagram story on Saturday, with a picture of the cuts he sustained in an attack on the way home from a night performing at Dublin’s gay bar The George. “Walking home last night and two scumbags took issue with my repeal jumper,” Ryan wrote.

“I was walking Golden Lane, just off George’s Street, and two guys across the street started screaming stuff at me about my repeal jumper,” Ryan told GCN.
“They started shouting things like ‘baby killer’ and ‘you’ll never have a child anyway, you faggot’.”
Ryan believes the attack was influenced by posters for No campaign on lampposts across Dublin. “Anyone who is uneducated on the issues, is looking at those No posters, and this is what they’re thinking.
“I think the No side have a lot on their conscience because a lot of the lies they’re propagating has driven people into this kind of behaviour.”
This is not the first time Ryan has been attacked on the street after work.
“I think the liberal Ireland we think we live in ceases to exist after a certain time when you’re walking through Dublin,” he says.
However, Pixie will continue to wear her repeal jumper, which is based on the Maser mural that was removed from the wall outside The Project Arts Centre last week.
“I’m not going to stop wearing it; I’ve been wearing it all weekend. I’m not taking it off for anything.”
