Irish fashion designer Colin Horgan has recently announced the closure of his brand, saying he has “taken the brand as far as I can go”. As he shared the news on social media, friends and fans of his work shared messages of support, wishing the designer the best for all his future endeavours.

Originally from Kerry, Colin Horgan completed an MA Fashion Womenswear programme at the Royal College of Art in 2017, concluding with his debut collection “Brisk”, which marked the start of an impressive career. His work is best known for the futuristic yet sophisticated aesthetic, which captures distinctive details through the use of visible stitching.

His creations have been worn by celebrities such as Dua Lipa, Little Mix and many more. Beyond fashion, Horgan has also expanded into creative direction, showcasing his multifaceted talent within interdisciplinary approaches. Teaming up with Hard Rock Hotel Dublin in 2023, Horgan also re-imagined one of the hotel’s superior guest bedrooms to raise funds for GCN.

Taking to Instagram on May 21, Colin Horgan announced the closure of his brand, reflecting on the journey so far. “With a heavy heart, I want to share that my brand COLIN HORGAN will officially close at the end of June 2025,” he wrote.

“This was not an easy decision, but it is one I’ve made with clarity.. and as confronting as it is, I’ve taken the brand as far as I can go. Since 2018, this journey has been nothing short of extraordinary with a rollercoaster full of twists and turns, but ultimately all good things must come to an end.

“I am so proud to have carved out a small community and niche that appreciates all things topstitching and I am glad we created a product that will ultimately be passed down through generations.”

“Thank You for believing in me and investing your time into the brand’s journey,” he said to all his fans and collaborators. “Special thank you to my partner Mark who has also been my rock throughout the highs and lows.”

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together and only now I am getting a chance to reflect and look back. And while this chapter is closing, I’m looking forward to discovering what’s next… whatever that will be.”
