Calling all queers; buckle up because Folsom Street Fair has come back with a bang in 2024! Having taken over the streets of San Francisco on Sunday, September 29, check out some of the thirstiest, cheekiest and kinkiest pics from the weekend’s action.
For those who don’t know, this annual event has been around for 41 years, allowing fetish fans from all over the globe to come together in celebration of their desires and community. Since its debut in 1984, it has grown exponentially, now lauded as the world’s largest leather and kink festival.
It serves as the highly-anticipated climax of San Francisco‘s Leather Pride Week, and Folsom Street Fair 2024 is reported to have drawn a record crowd encompassing hundreds of thousands. As well as the kink offerings, attendees were treated to exhibition booths featuring health and wellness advice, haircuts, massages, and art, alongside stages with live music, DJs, gogo dancers, drag and more.

The event is organised by Folsom Street, a non-profit and culture organisation that cultivates a safe, open and inclusive environment for kink, leather and alternative sexuality communities. As per the official website, the group is “dedicated to sexual liberation and the human right to pleasure as a crucial part of the liberation movement.”
Furthermore, since 1984, it has raised over $7 million in proceeds for LGBTQ+ causes.
San Francisco has a long history of leather-loving, with its very first leather bar, the Sailor Boy Tavern, opening in 1938 to cater to navy sailors looking for some same-sex action. An earlier precursor to Folsom was the CMC Carnival (California Motorcycle Club Carnival), a gay leather BDSM fair that took place from 1966-1984. It was organised by queer motorcycle clubs, like the Warlocks, San Francisco’s first gay biker gang.
