Queer Twitter has come out in force to defend Kim Woodburn after she stormed off Loose Women following an argument with Coleen Nolan.

The pair fell out on the Celebrity Big Brother and ITV reunited them in the hopes of a reconciliation on air.

“I’ll never forget what the likes of her and others put me through,” Woodburn said, alleging that she was bullied by seven people in the CBB house. “Never. It was bloody cruel.”

Following a slagging match in which fellow panellist Linda Nolan told Kim she had “no talent”, Woodburn who was visibly tearful said: “You think what you like. She’s a horrible person. She’s trash.”

Having had enough Kim walked off set.

ITV said: “We invited Kim on the show to reconcile with Coleen and put their differences behind them. But it didn’t go to plan.

“After 18 months, we were hoping the two women would let bygones be bygones. But it wasn’t to be.”

The row on the programme resulted in over 3,000 complaints to TV watchdog Ofcom.

Many viewers accused the panel of being “bullies” after the show aired, with Kim stating how she’s “incredibly upset” following the appearance.

Many have taken to Twitter to call for the removal of Coleen Nolan referencing her previous homophobic remarks and have declared Kim Woodburn a gay icon.

One of these incidents happened in 2015 when Colleen Nolan came under fire for comparing LGBT+ rights with supporting ISIS.

This was in defence of a bakery’s decision to refuse to make a cake for a same-sex couple because of the owner’s religious beliefs. She compared this incident to a customer asking for a cake with a message supporting ISIS.

“What about if somebody walked in and said I want a cake and I want the whole Islamic State on it and how I support it and how I support them killing our people. Because it’s a business do they have to make it? And if they turn around and say they’re not making it, we’d all applaud it.”

Daniel Thomas Gray said “Wouldn’t it be fabulous if, after all the years of bigotry, homophobia and general vileness. gay icon Kim Woodburn would be the person who finally gets Loose Women axed.”
