GCN and drag power couple The Misses are proud to present Miss Matched: a night of queer connection, a brand-new event for LGBTQ+ singles and anyone looking to meet new people.

Taking place on Friday, November 13, at The George, Miss Matched promises a playful, welcoming space where people can connect and have a good time, all while raising much-needed funds to support Ireland’s free independent LGBTQ+ media.

Expect drag performances, games, interactive activities and some surprises, including fab spot prizes, all designed to get people mixing, having fun, and getting to know each other beyond the small talk! Tickets are on sale now at this link for €15+ Eventbrite fees.

Whether you are looking for romance, friendships, or simply a great night out, Miss Matched is the perfect chance to meet someone new, make connections and see where the evening takes you. Turns out Friday the 13th could be lucky after all!

The event will also serve as a fundraiser for GCN, Ireland’s free national LGBTQ+ media and a registered charity, to help us continue providing this vital resource for the community.

Speaking about Miss Matched, GCN’s Managing Editor said: “We’re so excited to partner up with the fabulous Miss Taken and Miss Roots and our friends at The George once again to bring you all this brand new night. In recent years, we’ve organised many different events to bring the community together and create opportunities for people to connect, all while raising vital funds for GCN. We hope Miss Matched too will be a chance for people to come together, make new friends (or more!) and, most of all, have a great night!”

The Misses added: “In the age of social media, we’re losing the art of in-person connection. Especially for the LGBTQ+ community, we have fewer spaces to socialise than ever before. We want to create a space where people can come, make new friends and maybe find someone special along the way. We’ll have icebreakers, prizes, and we promise we’ll have a laugh while we’re at it.”

With a not-for-profit model, GCN operates on limited funds and resources and has been greatly impacted by rising business costs, like rent, electricity and paper. Amid an increasingly hostile global political climate and the rise of hate and misinformation, now more than ever, our community needs a free, accessible, independent media organisation that tells our side of the story.

We can’t wait to see you there!

If you can’t make it to this fabulous event with The Misses but would like to support the work GCN does, you can donate what you can at this link.

This event is a fundraiser for GCN (a trading name of the National LGBT Federation CLG, Registered Charity Number: 20034580) and is proudly supported by The George and Queer Hawk.

Support GCN

GCN is a free, vital resource for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.

GCN is a trading name of National LGBT Federation CLG, a registered charity - Charity Number: 20034580.

GCN relies on the generous support of the community and allies to sustain the crucial work that we do. Producing GCN is costly, and, in an industry which has been hugely impacted by rising costs, we need your support to help sustain and grow this vital resource.

Supporting GCN for as little as €1.99 per month will help us continue our work as Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
