Are you a digital native looking to build your career in Ireland’s media? Do you want to contribute to Ireland’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT+) community? Then the GCN Web Content Manager position could be for you!

As GCN’s Web Content Manager you’ll lead the management and creation of blog posts, articles, infographics, listicles, video content and audio content for GCN.ie to help GCN grow and engage with our audience.

Your goal will be to develop GCN’s presence online by sourcing and provision of LGBT+ focussed content that drives people to read our website, to sign up to our email newsletter, and to influence our audience to share content on social media while simultaneously building your career as a journalist and social media savvy digital marketer.

The Web Content Manager will be joining GCN’s tight-knit team in the heart of Dublin’s city centre, just beside City Hall, to help develop our digital presence and grow the brand.

In addition to acting as a hub for Ireland’s leading LGBT+ magazine, GCN.ie is a valuable resource for the queer community, reporting on global and Irish LGBT+ news like Leo Varadkar’s appointment as Taoiseach, McGregor’s use of a homophobic slur and subsequent apology, and the results of The GALAS, the national LGBT+ award ceremony.

2017 And Beyond…

GCN has been entirely overhauled with a brand new, sophisticated design for the magazine that launched in June this year alongside a redesigned website that took over from our sister site, The Outmost.

GCN.ie has just been nominated for Digital Product of the Year in the Irish Magazine Awards 2017, an award which recognises the slick new site that houses our content, the digital magazine, directory and more so it’s a fantastic time to come onboard!

The successful applicant will be joining GCN as we stride into our 3oth year in publication, so you can be sure there are some incredible events and exciting changes in store next year!

Support GCN

GCN has been a vital, free-of-charge information service for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.

During this global COVID pandemic, we like many other organisations have been impacted greatly in the way we can do business and produce. This means a temporary pause to our print publication and live events and so now more than ever we need your help to continue providing this community resource digitally.

GCN is a registered charity with a not-for-profit business model and we need your support. If you value having an independent LGBTQ+ media in Ireland, you can help from as little as €1.99 per month. Support Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
