Hozier has announced over Twitter that he will appear on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Irish newcomer Hozier ( aka Andrew Byrne) shot to success earlier this year with his powerful song Take Me To Church and the equally powerful music video which was intended to support gay relationships in light of the anti-gay violence in Russia.

Now, the lesbian queen of daytime TV herself, Ellen Degeneres, has invited the Wicklow native to perform on her show next week.

Hozier made the announcement on his Twitter account last night, saying that the news was “dizzying”.

Dizzying news…I’ll be performing on @TheEllenShow next week. Cannot believe it. More details to come. Am elated and lost for words. Ellen.

It’s been quite a busy few days for the Irishman, who also performed on the hallowed stage of Late Night with David Letterman earlier this week. Fair play, Andrew!
