American photographer iO Tillett Wright is taking on the huge task of photographing 10,000 people in the US who identify as anything but “100% straight” in an effort to “humanise a vast community” by showing their diversity.

Wright’s plan is to then bring those 10,000 portraits all the way to Washington D.C. and lay them out in front of the Washington Monument in an effort to create visibility of the queer community. The project, Self Evident Truths, is a huge project and needs help from both LGBT people, and their straight allies.

The #WEAREYOU fundraising campaign was launched this week and is supported by celebrity LGBT advocates Johnny Depp, Sia, Kylie Minogue, Amber Heard and Penn Badgely.

Good luck, iO!
