Irish choreographer Zacc Milne has received an MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) nomination for his work on KATSEYE’s ‘PINKY UP’. The shortlists were announced on Tuesday, August 18, ahead of the 2026 ceremony later this year.
KATSEYE received two nominations in total, in the Best K-Pop and Best Choreography categories. Milne is credited in the latter, alongside his colleagues Grant Gilmore, Sohey Sugihara and Sergio Reis. Together, they crafted the routine for KATSEYE’s single ‘PINKY UP’, which was released in April of this year.
Originally from Dublin, Milne started dancing and performing when he was just four years old. When he was 15, he moved to Auckland, New Zealand, with his family to join the renowned dance crew The Royal Family, with whom he won multiple world titles. Since then, he has featured in many music videos and toured with the likes of Dua Lipa and Elyanna, and has worked with Sevdaliza as choreographer and movement director on her recent tour.

Working on KATSEYE’s ‘PINKY UP’ is an impressive credit for the Irish choreographer, with the girl group known for their viral dance routines. The band was formed through the 2023 reality competition series Dream Academy, a collaboration between Hybe and Geffen Records, which was later chronicled in the Netflix docuseries Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE. Now boasting a huge global following, the group will launch their THE WILDWORD TOUR in Dublin’s 3Arena on September 1, 2026.
Milne faces stiff competition at the VMAs from the choreographers behind GENER8ION’s ‘STORM’, Harry Styles’ ‘Dance No More’, Madonna’s Confessions II – The Film, Tate McRae’s ‘Nobody’s Girl’, and Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’. Unlike several other categories, this one is not open to public vote and will instead be decided by a specialised panel of music video and industry professionals.
The 2026 MTV VMAs will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 27. Across the categories, Madonna is the most featured artist with a total of 11 nominations, followed by pop stars including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter.
